September 2023 – ROCK STAR OF THE MONTH

Celebrating Our Employees

At Rocky Mountain Stone, we have been blessed to have some of the finest stone artisans work in our shop, and this month, we’d like to recognize one of those individuals.

Cruz Hernandez has been fabricating stone for the past 6 years, with the past 4 years as a lead fabricator at RMS. His diligent work ethic and attention to detail is unsurpassed. The quality of finishing and his ability to fabricate the most complicated stonework makes him one of our most valuable assets. Cruz recently completed a very challenging Quartzite integrated sink project that is both stunning and impeccable in its construction. This type of work puts Cruz in another league when it comes to high-quality stone fabrication.

When not at work, Cruz enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. He loves the creation aspect of working with stone and looks forward to many more challenging projects in the future.

The Importance of Professional Stone Installation

When it comes to enhancing the beauty and functionality of your living spaces, stone installations are an excellent choice. Whether it’s a stunning natural stone countertop, elegant custom signage, or a classy integrated sink like the one that Cruz installed, the allure of natural stone is undeniable. However, the key to achieving the best results and avoiding costly mistakes lies in choosing professionals with proper knowledge over DIY efforts. Here are a few reasons why investing in professional services can leave you better off.

1. Expertise and Experience

One of the most compelling reasons to opt for professional installation is their expertise and experience. Our team at Rocky Mountain Stone comprises skilled craftsmen like Cruz with years of training and hands-on experience. They understand the intricacies of working with various types of stone, ensuring that your project is handled correctly during the application process. For example, DIY enthusiasts may lack the necessary knowledge to select the right stone type for their specific application, resulting in improper stone choices that may not meet the long-term durability and aesthetic requirements. Professional installers can guide you in choosing the right stone and design for your project, ensuring a beautiful and long-lasting result.

2. Precision and Quality

Professional stone installers take great care to ensure precise measurements and a flawless installation process. Their attention to detail results in seamless seams, perfectly level surfaces, and a finish that exudes quality and craftsmanship. A lot of steps, such as cutting and polishing the stone, require advanced equipment to be done correctly. DIY projects, on the other hand, are more prone to errors that can compromise the final appearance and durability of the stone, such as improper sealing and water damage. It’s our standard to get it done right the first time so that you can have years of maintenance-free enjoyment.

3. Time and Cost Efficiency

A common belief associated with DIY is that it helps you save money. Perhaps that’s true for certain home improvement projects, but when it comes to managing quality stone, it’s easy to discover the hidden costs that can accompany DIY efforts. Mistakes, wasted materials, and the time it takes to learn the necessary skills can quickly add up, overtaking what you would have saved in labor cost. In contrast, professional stone installers work efficiently, saving you both time and money in the long run. At Rocky Mountain Stone, we have the tools, equipment, and resources to complete solid stone installation promptly and within your budget. We can also help you source quality materials at competitive prices, ensuring that your investment is well-spent.

4. Safety and Compliance

Safety is a paramount concern during the complex process of stone installations. Our professionals are well-versed in safety measures, including handling heavy stone slabs, using specialized equipment, and adhering to building codes and regulations so that you can feel secure with your finished project. Attempting DIY stone installations without the right knowledge and tools can lead to accidents and legal issues. It’s easy to misstep when it comes to working with harsh materials, grout joints, or applications of sealer. Our employees, such as Cruz, follow industry best practices and ensure that your project meets all safety standards and local regulations. Additionally, when you work with us, we provide a limited lifetime warranty on every countertop installation, giving you peace of mind.
