Landscaping rocks are a great way to add texture and contrast to the areas outside your Albuquerque home. They’re also a durable ground cover and require little to no maintenance.

How to Choose the Right Rocks

At RMS, we offer over 20 types of gravel and other landscaping stones.

Different types of landscaping rock and gravel will create a different look for your yard. Use of river rocks and tawny beach pebbles will add a touch of warmth. Larger aggregates like Blue Sais 2-4 and 8-inch La Paz Pebbles are a great addition under trees.

The type of yard you have also dictates which rocks to use. Some rocks may be the perfect complement for tropical landscapes but would overpower a formal garden. There are many ways to use landscaping rocks at your home.

Pebbles and smaller stones are durable and a great long-term alternative to mulch, which must be replaced every season.

Surrounding a favorite specimen tree or shrub with medium-sized river stones creates a “living sculpture.”

For a low-maintenance container garden, place the containers in a rock or pebble bed that can be reached by your sprinkler system. Surround the containers with small stones in a mix of complementary colors.

Flagstone pavers that lead up to a porch, deck, or pool look great surrounded by small pebbles in a contrasting color.

Many people use rocks to build gravel water scenes or to redirect water away from their home’s foundation. No matter how stone and gravel are used, natural landscaping rocks are an ideal hardscape material that can bring out the beauty of your plants while adding a sense of structure to your planted areas.

End Cuts & Remnants

End cuts are pieces of material leftover from previous jobs. Some have various amounts of fabrication already completed on them. To qualify for end cut pricing, they must be less than 20 sq ft, less than 30” in height, and have no matching slabs in inventory. They are located in designated portions of the yard, although NOT ALL material in these sections will qualify for end cut pricing.
