  • Waterjet Cutting

Our fabrication facility contains state of the art equipment ranging from CNC routers, bridge saws, line polishers, and more; all of which run with the help of our 100% efficiency water recycling system. Our waterjet allows us the major benefit of precision cutting of a diverse array of materials. By pressurizing water into thousands of pounds per square inch and emitting it at high velocities through a tiny orifice, water jet cutters are able to cut intricate designs into stone, glass, metal and more. The technological advances within the last few decades have propelled water jets to the forefront of cutting processes.

  • Paving

Many people do not realize that the environment we live in is one of the harshest and most destructive in the entire country. Why is this? Albuquerque and most of New Mexico is a “high desert” and because of this, we experience more freeze/thaw cycles than other parts of the country. The depth of a freeze does not do as much damage as the number of cycles of freezing and thawing that occurs to a surface. In a high desert, our winter temperatures fluctuate from the low 20’s to the high 40’s between night and day. At night, the water that has melted and penetrated into the pores of any paving material, freezes and, because water expands when it freezes, it will microscopically fracture the material. These fine fissures then take on more water when they thaw and the next night, the freezing happens again. This continuous freeze/thaw cycle is what damages any paving material. Natural granite, porphyry, or quartzitic sandstones have very low absorption rates and can withstand thousands of these damaging cycles. Man made materials simply don’t have the durability of natural stone in our land of the high desert.

Artisan Group product lines: Heritage Wood, Saratoga Soapstone, and Artisan Stone Collection Granite are the first stone and wood products to be available to architects, spec writers, engineers and contractors on ARCAT.ARCAT provides information on building materials for architects, spec writers, engineers and contractors. The system supports 10,500 manufacturers and is used by more than 200,000 industry professionals per month.

“To my knowledge, Artisan Group has created the first three-part CSI spec for natural stone,” says Thomas Hooker, ARCAT. “This is a unique because until this time, only manmade products were included in spec programs and this puts natural and sustainable products in front of architects.”

Over the years architects have grown to depend on ARCAT’s CSI 3-Part Format specs because they are thorough, accurate, and consistent.
